As a former Fellow at the Newberry Library, It was an honor to be asked to print a broadside commemorating their Spring 2019 ‘Finding Melville at Sea’ show in the newly renovated gallery. Measuring 11x14” the print features type set to mimic the sails on the ship of the dying sailor, with a circular debossed ring around the colophon, a reference to ‘deadlight’ or porthole. The ornaments are dusted with UV-activated powder so they glow slightly when exposed to light. This is to capture the idea of 'corpse light.’
